manual machinist
Roles & responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Set-up and operate manual Lathe machines, milling machines, bore mills, drill presses, punch press
- Use of acetylene torches
- Use of vertical and horizontal hydraulic presses
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Reads drawings
- Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as vertical milling machine and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials into machines.
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
Candidates Must have extensive experience in all of the following:
- manual lathes
- manual milling
- bore milling
- punch press
- hydraulic presses
- measuring instruments
Candidate must have the following abilities:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time
- This role is for 3 hours per week
Police check & medical evaluation may be required
Hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
