Assistant Purchaser

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Purchaser to support our procurement activities. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing materials and components, coordinating purchase orders, following up with suppliers, and supporting the purchasing needs of our Production, Engineering and Sales teams.

This is a hands-on opportunity for candidates who are looking to build a career in procurement, with potential progression towards a Purchasing Executive or Buyer role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for materials, components and other purchasing requirements.
• Request and compare supplier quotations to support purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up with suppliers on order status and delivery schedules.
• Liaise with Production, Engineering and Sales teams to understand and coordinate purchasing requirements.
• Monitor outstanding orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Follow up with suppliers on delivery issues, discrepancies, quality concerns and other purchasing matters.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and documentation.
• Assist in monitoring supplier pricing and performance.
• Support the Purchasing team in maintaining proper purchasing procedures and documentation.
• Perform other purchasing and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

• Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics or a related discipline .
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Relevant internship or working experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain will be an advantage.
• Good organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
• Responsible, organized and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
