Senior Claims Consultant Role purpose

Lead and manage complex insurance claims end-to-end, ensuring fair, timely outcomes, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer and stakeholder experience.

Core responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, and resolve complex or high-value claims, including liability, coverage, and quantum decisions.
• Interpret policy wordings, legislation, and internal guidelines to determine entitlements and manage risk.
• Coordinate internal teams and external parties (customers, brokers, legal counsel, medical providers, loss adjusters, repairers) to progress claims efficiently.
• Negotiate settlements, manage disputes/escalations, and contribute to complaint resolution where required.
• Maintain accurate claim file documentation, correspondence, and decision rationale in claims systems.
• Identify fraud indicators and refer/investigate in line with fraud management procedures.
• Support continuous improvement through insights on claim trends, leakage prevention, and process enhancements.
• Provide guidance or mentoring to junior consultants and contribute to team capability uplift.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience handling complex claims with strong technical decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of policy interpretation, relevant regulations, and compliance obligations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and written/verbal communication skills.
