CAD Draftsman

About the role

We are hiring for an experienced CAD draftsman — electrical to join a leading engineering advisory firm specialising in renewable energy, substations, and transmission systems. Based in Dubai or India, this role reports to the engineering/technical lead and plays a key role in delivering high-quality electrical drawings for solar PV, BESS, and power infrastructure projects.

This position requires strong expertise across LV/MV/EHV systems, excellent coordination skills, and experience working in multicultural, multi-office environments.

About the requirements

You will be responsible for:

Preparing and managing electrical CAD drawings, including SLDs, GA layouts, cable routing, earthing systems, and substation layouts (AIS/GIS)

Developing design drawings for solar PV plants and BESS projects, including array layouts and interconnections

Producing transmission line drawings such as route plans, tower schedules, profiles, and crossing details

Drafting layouts for substations covering switchgear, transformers, protection panels, and control buildings

Coordinating with engineering teams, project managers, and clients across regions to incorporate changes and ensure timely delivery

Maintaining drawing registers, revision control, and compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, and regional codes)

About you

To succeed in this role, you should have:

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, drafting, or a related field with 10+ years of CAD drafting experience in the power sector

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in substations (AIS/GIS), transmission systems, and renewable energy projects (solar PV/BESS)

Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-country team environment
