Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the full quantity surveying and commercial aspects of metalworks and structural steel projects.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), budgets and tender submissions.
  • Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify project requirements and potential commercial risks.
  • Manage variations, claims, progress payments, valuations and final accounts.
  • Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditures to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements for structural steel and metalwork packages.
  • Review subcontractor accounts and certify progress claims.
  • Negotiate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Assist in tendering and procurement activities, including cost comparison and negotiation.
  • Provide commercial advice to the Project and Management teams.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, risks and potential cost implications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates for Management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained for all commercial matters.

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably within the construction, structural steel or metalworks industry.
  • Strong experience in structural steel, metalworks or steel fabrication projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of measurement, costing, tendering, contract administration and variation claims.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and relevant Singapore construction practices.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
