Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable

Experience

10 years relevant post graduate experience, with at least 6 years in the oil & gas industry

Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to instrumentation engineering

Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment

Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English

Key responsibilities

Provide technical design and engineering services in instrumentation engineering for assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality of work in accordance with company procedures, while considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE

Conduct instrumentation engineering activities and in-house site surveys from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning

Ensure that company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during instrumentation engineering activities

Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices

Support the engineering department to review, update and apply company standards and amendments to external standards

Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements

Co-ordinate engineering designs, and develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring that the work scope is comprehensive and clear

Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance, and liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues

Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, and contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery

Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance

Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices

Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of co-workers

Participate in structured training for associate Qatari engineers
