Assistant Buyer
Qualification:
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
Experience and skills:
Minimum of 6 years experience in purchasing equipment and materials, preferably in an oil and gas environment
Ability to read drawings and technical documents
Proficient in MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel
Knowledge of SAP
Good understanding of materials specifications
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Implement the purchasing process effectively and efficiently to convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders in line with internal regulations, procedures, and standards
Apply appropriate sourcing strategies to ensure efficient fulfillment of requirements for oil and gas operations
Review user requirements and resolve inconsistencies, including technical specifications, lead times, quantities, and estimated values
Review technical evaluations, price comparisons, and commercial evaluations, and prepare award recommendations
Prepare award documents (purchase orders) and change/variation orders
Support SLA and KPI processes and implement performance reports and key deliverables in order execution, including administration of bonds/guarantees, progress payments, and expediting delivery for emergency, critical, and high value requirements for oil and gas operations
Execute pre-qualification and technical proposal exercises to facilitate development of technical specifications and price estimates
Assist in expediting material deliveries through coordination and leveraging supply base relationships
Support and monitor vendor performance metrics to enhance the vendor performance portfolio
Track trends and developments in the marketplace that may impact the price and delivery of materials and equipment for oil and gas operations
Maintain a high level of integrity in line with ethical policies and uphold confidentiality in all business processes
Enhance and maintain customer relationships (internal and external) to foster a cohesive working environment based on trust and performance
