Warehouse Manager ? Moving & Storage
*Location:* Mississauga, Ontario *Job Type:* Full-time
King?s Transfer Van Lines is seeking an experienced, hands-on *Warehouse Manager* for our Mississauga branch. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day organization and operation of our warehouse while also providing support to the Operations Manager with dispatch, crews, equipment and other operational requirements.
This is a hands-on position in a moving and storage environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in the warehouse, operating a forklift, assisting crews and stepping in wherever required to keep daily operations running smoothly.
*IMPORTANT:* This is a physically active role that may involve repeatedly lifting and moving items weighing up to 75+ lbs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation, organization and cleanliness of the warehouse
- Track storage lots and ensure items entering and leaving the warehouse are properly documented
- Oversee loading, unloading and placement of household goods and storage shipments
- Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment safely
- Maintain an organized inventory of warehouse equipment, moving equipment and packing materials
- Ensure crews have the equipment and materials required for their daily assignments
- Assist with receiving long-distance shipments and preparing shipments for outbound service
- Monitor warehouse safety and ensure company procedures are followed
- Identify damaged equipment, facility issues or maintenance requirements and report or coordinate repairs as required
Operations Support
The Warehouse Manager will work closely with and provide support to the Operations Manager, including:
- Assisting with the daily dispatch and coordination of moving crews
- Reviewing daily assignments and helping allocate crews, trucks and equipment
- Communicating with drivers and crews throughout the day as required
- Supporting the coordination of long-haul drivers and long-distance shipments
- Helping ensure crews meet King?s Transfer standards for quality and customer service
- Assisting with vehicle and equipment inspections and maintenance scheduling
- Supporting driver and vehicle documentation requirements
- Ensuring required move paperwork and operational documentation is completed and returned
- Assisting with Atlas Van Lines documentation and procedures
- Providing operational coverage and support when the Operations Manager is unavailable
- Assisting with other branch operational requirements as needed
Requirements
*Required:*
- Previous warehouse, moving & storage, transportation or logistics experience
- Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driver abstract
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and work effectively with moving crews and drivers
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move items weighing up to 75+ lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

- Valid AZ driver's licence
- Previous experience in the moving and storage industry
- Experience working with a national van line
- Dispatch or transportation operations experience
- Experience managing household goods storage and warehouse inventories
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Moving and storage operations can require early mornings and occasional evening or weekend work depending on operational and customer requirements.
