Site Manager
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of construction sites to ensure efficient project execution.
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, artisans, and site personnel.
Ensure construction work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Coordinate daily site activities and allocate resources effectively.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work. Develop and implement site work plans in collaboration with project managers and consultants.
Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are achieved.
Coordinate the delivery and proper use of construction materials, equipment, and labour.
Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, consultants, and clients.
Resolve site-related technical and operational issues promptly. Ensure all construction work meets company quality standards and project specifications.
Inspect completed work and address defects or non-conformance issues.
Verify that materials used on-site comply with approved standards.
Maintain quality control records and inspection reports. Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
Ensure all workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Identify and mitigate site risks to prevent accidents and delays.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and statutory regulations. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
Maintain records of site activities, labour attendance, material usage, and equipment.
Monitor project costs and assist in controlling site expenses.
Report project progress, challenges, and management recommendations.
Requirements:
Minimum of an HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven years of experience in construction site management or project supervision.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, site operations, and quality control.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple contractors and meet project deadlines.
