Lighting Designer

Summary: Julian Grey’s client is a specialised lighting design consultancy firm. Responsibilities Develop or assist in developing lighting concepts that align with the architectural direction and client brief. Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules and design documentation throughout the project stages. Research and specify suitable lighting fixtures and control systems based on project requirements and budget. Coordinate design and technical matters with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. Prepare and support tender and construction documentation. Attend project meetings, design reviews and site visits. Assist with on-site lighting focusing, testing and commissioning when required. Manage or support project schedules, design submissions and deliverables, depending on experience. Requirements Diploma in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline. Relevant experience in lighting design. The position level will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and capabilities. Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop. Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit or lighting calculation software would be advantageous. A portfolio showcasing relevant lighting design projects is required.
