Accountabilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, and declarative automation tools.

Lead technical discussions and contribute to solution architecture and design decisions in collaboration with architects and other technical stakeholders.

Translate complex public health workflows, operational requirements, and user needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce implementations.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers through pair programming, code reviews, constructive feedback, and ongoing knowledge sharing.

Establish and promote development best practices by producing clean, well-documented, reusable, and testable code that meets established quality standards.

Identify, investigate, and resolve complex technical challenges, recommending practical solutions that align with business objectives and public health operational realities.

Collaborate with solutions analysts, architects, quality assurance specialists, and other team members to ensure technical deliverables meet functional requirements and end-user expectations.

Participate in Agile Release Train (ART) activities and SAFe practices, including Program Increment (PI) planning, two-week sprint cycles, daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint retrospectives.

Contribute to technical roadmaps, sprint planning, and backlog prioritization, ensuring that development activities support project goals and long-term platform sustainability.

Work with quality assurance teams to validate functionality, maintain comprehensive test coverage, and deliver reliable, high-quality applications.

Apply knowledge of governmental public health operations to challenge impractical design assumptions, anticipate user needs, and ensure that technology solutions reflect real-world constraints.

Contribute to the evolution of public health technology platforms and client implementations by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and stronger system performance.

Requirements:

Salesforce development experience: At least three years of hands-on experience developing Salesforce applications, with strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, and declarative automation.

Governmental public health experience: One to three years of direct experience working for a governmental public health agency at the local, state, tribal, or federal level. Experience with organizations such as the CDC or HRSA may be relevant. Applicants must clearly demonstrate this experience on their resumes.

Salesforce certification: Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required. Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is preferred.

Salesforce platform expertise: Solid understanding of Salesforce data modeling, platform security, application architecture, and scalable development practices.

Integration and automation: Familiarity with system integration patterns, REST and SOAP APIs, and the implementation of automated workflows.

Development tools and quality assurance: Experience with Git or other version control systems, CI/CD practices, Salesforce testing frameworks, and test-driven development principles.

Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments, with familiarity with SAFe principles and Agile Release Train practices preferred.

Technical leadership: Demonstrated ability to guide less experienced developers, participate in code reviews, share technical knowledge, and contribute to solution design discussions.

Public health knowledge: Understanding of governmental public health operations, including agency workflows, resource constraints, service delivery requirements, and the needs of public health professionals.

Preferred industry experience: Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Health Cloud, public health data systems, case management solutions, or epidemiology workflows.

Regulatory awareness: Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and the considerations involved in developing secure solutions that handle sensitive health information is an advantage.

Communication and collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and nontechnical teams and translate complex requirements into practical solutions.

Problem-solving and initiative: Ability to independently investigate technical issues, exercise sound judgment, challenge ineffective approaches constructively, and continuously improve development practices.

Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and agree to employment eligibility verification through E-Verify.
