Accountabilities
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance embedded software applications using C++ for mission-critical navigation and timing systems.
Build and support backend software components, input/output processing capabilities, and embedded system integrations.
Debug, troubleshoot, and validate software functionality across laboratory, integration, and system-level testing environments.
Analyze and test hardware and software interfaces to ensure reliable communication, data processing, and system performance.
Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, validation procedures, and technical test documentation to verify software quality.
Support serial and digital I/O integrations, including communication with hardware components, drivers, and embedded system interfaces.
Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and support project milestones.
Document software designs, test outcomes, defects, and engineering findings according to established development standards.
Contribute to software updates, issue resolution, integration activities, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or another related STEM discipline.
7+ years of experience developing embedded software systems.
Strong C++ programming experience, particularly in backend software, system-level development, and input/output processing.
Proven experience debugging, testing, and troubleshooting embedded software in laboratory, integration, or production environments.
Experience working with hardware/software interfaces, serial communication, digital I/O, or related embedded technologies.
Ability to design and execute software validation procedures, including unit testing and integration testing.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across software, hardware, systems, and testing teams.
Experience with Embedded Linux, DO-178C, Qt/XAML, DDS communications, I2C, MIL-STD-1553, Board Support Packages, device drivers, or assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems is highly preferred.
Background supporting aerospace, defense, avionics, or other mission-critical embedded platforms is a strong advantage.
