Accountabilities: The Securities Finance Trader will support the development and execution of securities lending activities while leveraging technology to improve trading performance, operational efficiency, and risk controls.

Identify, evaluate, and execute securities borrow and loan opportunities across equities, fixed income, and ETF markets using manual and automated trading approaches.

Monitor loan activity, recalls, rates, and market conditions to optimize profitability while managing exposure and operational risks.

Use Python and SQL to automate workflows, build analytical tools, and improve data-driven decision-making processes.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to enhance trading systems, data pipelines, and internal processes.

Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, lenders, custodians, vendors, and institutional partners.

Support the development and improvement of securities lending products, operational workflows, and automation solutions.

Assess counterparty, credit, and market risks while staying informed on market developments and regulatory changes.

Contribute to the implementation of scalable technology solutions for securities lending operations and trading activities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines quantitative skills, technical ability, and an interest in financial markets with strong collaboration and problem-solving capabilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.

0–2 years of experience in a technical, quantitative, or trading role, with exposure to securities lending, short selling, or related financial markets preferred.

Proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to apply programming skills to financial analysis and automation.

Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Understanding of core financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, ETFs, and general market mechanics.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

High initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn advanced trading concepts, securities finance, and product development.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
