Marketing and Sales Intern
About us
HARDDRIVE is a Singapore-based engineering consultancy. We work across energy systems, advanced materials, medtech, electronics manufacturing and industrial supply chain. We are the people companies call when they have built something complex and need an independent engineer to tell them whether it is safe, whether it works and what will break first.
Our clients range from government research agencies to defence contractors to global electronics manufacturers. No two projects look alike, which is exactly why the work is interesting.
We are small. That is the point.
The role
We are looking for our first marketing and sales intern. You will not be fetching coffee or resizing banners. You will work directly with the founder while we decide who to pitch, how to price and what story to tell, and you will own real pieces of that.
This is a good fit if you want to learn how B2B technical services actually get sold, in a market where the buyer is an engineer and the pitch has to be credible before it can be persuasive.
You will be given a goal and a deadline, not a daily task list. Nobody will check on you every morning. You decide what to do next, you do it and you tell us what happened. If that sounds like freedom, apply. If it sounds like being left alone, this is not the right internship.
What you will do
- Build and maintain our prospect list in energy systems, the sector we are pushing hardest on right now. You own this list end to end
- Run outbound outreach on LinkedIn and email, and track what lands
- Turn completed projects into case studies and capability one-pagers that a technical buyer will respect
- Write and schedule content that makes HARDDRIVE visible to the right 500 people, not the wrong 50,000
- Support proposal and quotation preparation, including formatting, references and follow-up
- Research target sectors and map competitors, pricing and positioning
- Work in AI-assisted workflows for the repetitive parts of the job: prospect research, first-draft content, meeting notes and market scans. We want the function to run faster because of how you work, not because you put in more hours
- Keep the CRM honest so we always know where every conversation stands
Who we are looking for
- Final-year student, recent graduate or fresh out of poly or university. No prior experience required
- You write clearly. This matters more than anything else on this list
- Comfortable being told your first draft is not good enough, and quick to make the second one better
- AI fluent. You already use tools like Claude or ChatGPT as part of how you work, not as a novelty. You know how to prompt for something usable, can spot when output is confidently wrong and fix it before anyone else sees it. If you have built anything with these tools, tell us
- Curious about hard engineering even if you have never studied it. Our projects span battery systems, materials, medical devices and manufacturing, so you will need to get up to speed on an unfamiliar technical subject fast and understand enough to sound like you belong in the room
- You finish things without being chased. If you say the outreach goes out Thursday, it goes out Thursday, and if it slips you tell us before we ask
- You are willing to make a call and own the outcome. We would rather you tried something we would not have chosen and reported back honestly than waited a week for permission
- Willing to send the cold message, make the call and sit with the awkward silence
Nice to have, not required
- Any exposure to LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Notion, Canva or Figma
- A portfolio of anything you have written or built, including university projects, a newsletter or a club you ran
- Interest in energy, mobility, materials, medtech, manufacturing or defence
What you get
- Direct access to the founder. You will join real client conversations from week one
- Ownership of a function, not a task list. What you build will still be running after your internship ends
- A written reference and a portfolio of real commercial work
- Monthly stipend
Details
- Location: Singapore. Fully remote
- Duration: 3 to 6 months, with flexibility around your academic schedule
- Start: Immediate or by arrangement
- Eligibility: Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only
How to apply
Send your CV and a short note to harddrivecareers@gmail.com. In the note, pick any company you think should be a HARDDRIVE client and tell us in three sentences why, and how you would get to the person who decides.
We read every application. If your note is good you will hear from us within a week.
