Gulf British Academy is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and vision-aligned KS1 teachers to join our growing school in the heart of Kuwait.

Founded in 2005, GBA is a thriving, BSO-accredited British international school catering for pupils from Pre-KG to Year 12. In 2020, we moved into our purpose-built, state-of-the-art campus—reflecting our ongoing commitment to offering exceptional learning experiences for both pupils and staff.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking UK-qualified, proactive, and experienced KS1 teachers who are passionate about:

Creating classrooms rooted in strong relationships, trust and collaboration

Embedding oracy, structured talk, and enquiry-based learning into everyday practice

Planning engaging, creative and rigorous lessons that support all learners

Helping pupils become reflective, independent and confident communicators

Supporting the wider development of our oracy-rich, inclusive learning community

Applicants must be fluent English-speaking graduates holding a UK Department for Education teacher number or completing their final year of training.

What you offer

Engages and challenges learners through high-quality planning, modelling and instruction

Uses structured talk, purposeful dialogue, and enquiry-based learning to deepen understanding

Demonstrates strong knowledge of effective teaching, learning and assessment

Builds trusting, respectful relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Reflects critically on your practice and embraces professional development

Works flexibly, collaboratively and positively as part of a dedicated team

Brings strong communication skills and fluent spoken/written English

Uses classroom technology effectively to enhance learning

Contributes enthusiastically to our extensive extra-curricular and whole-school provision

Holds a clean enhanced DBS/police clearance

Is able to relocate to Kuwait promptly and be ready to teach on 1 September

Essential requirements

UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – PGCE or BEd

UK Bachelors degree in education or a curriculum subject

Successful and recent primary experience in a UK or BSO-accredited school

Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England

Ability to plan for the needs of all learners

Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

Strong digital literacy (Google Workspace, shared drives, etc.)
