Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Ensure timely submission of statutory returns to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), SSNIT, and other regulatory bodies. Maintain compliance with the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992), Bank of Ghana regulations, and other applicable Ghanaian laws. Support group consolidation reporting to China HQ in both GHS and CNY/USD.
Taxation
Manage corporate income tax, VAT (15%), withholding tax, and other statutory tax obligations. Handle transfer pricing documentation and compliance with Ghana transfer pricing regulations. Liaise with tax consultants and the GRA on tax planning, audits, and disputes.
Treasury & Cash Management
Oversee daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and rolling cash flow forecasts. Manage banking relationships with local and international banks. Manage foreign exchange exposure (GHS/USD, GHS/CNY) and recommend hedging strategies. Coordinate with HQ treasury for inter-company funding, dividends, and capital repatriation.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage the end-to-end AP and AR cycles. Process vendor payments, dealer settlements, and customer collections on time. Reconcile dealer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly. Run credit control and collections, escalating overdue accounts as needed.
Payroll & Statutory Deductions
Process monthly payroll including SSNIT contributions for employee. Compute and remit PAYE (Pay As You Earn) and other statutory deductions.
Internal Controls & Audit
Implement and maintain robust internal controls across all financial processes. Coordinate the annual external audit and act as the key liaison with auditors. Support periodic internal audit reviews from group HQ. Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation actions.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare the annual operating budget and quarterly re-forecasts. Conduct monthly variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) and report insights to management. Provide financial analysis and modelling to support pricing, tendering, and strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
Education. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification — ICAG (Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana), ACCA, or equivalent — is strongly preferred.
Experience. Minimum 3–5 years of finance experience, ideally in a multinational, manufacturing, distribution, or heavy-equipment environment.
Technical Knowledge. Strong knowledge of Ghana tax law (GRA, SSNIT), Companies Act 2019, and IFRS. Comfortable with group consolidation and inter-company transactions.
Systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling). Hands-on experience with an ERP system — SAP preferred; familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is acceptable. Experience with group reporting tools is a plus.
Languages. Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
