Adjusting Technician - Property

Location: Home Based

Overview:

We are working with one of the UK’s established loss adjusting businesses, which is continuing to develop its property operation.

They are looking for an experienced Adjusting Technician to support a team of Property Loss Adjusters. The role is home based and involves working alongside the Adjusters to help manage and progress a varied portfolio of domestic property claims.

The role involves supporting Loss Adjusters with the day to day management of property claims. You will assist with claim investigations, gather and review relevant information, prepare reports and correspondence, manage actions and help ensure claims progress in line with client requirements and service levels.

You will have responsibility for detailed triaging of claims at the front end, identifying actions required and progressing claims where appropriate. The role also involves managing elements of the Adjusters’ caseload, planning upcoming activity and maintaining regular contact with policyholders, brokers, suppliers and clients.

The business has a broad Property operation and scope for progression, with the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge of property claims and take on more complex tasks and decision making as your experience develops.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Loss Adjusters with the management and progression of domestic property claims.
  • Reviewing and managing the Loss Adjusters’ diaries to help plan upcoming appointments, tasks and deadlines.
  • Identifying actions required on claims and progressing these where appropriate.
  • Managing specific claims within Work In Progress to support the Adjusters’ caseloads and develop your own technical experience.
  • Preparing, drafting and formatting reports, letters, schedules and claim updates.
  • Gathering and reviewing documentation and evidence to support claim investigations.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records across claims systems and case management platforms.
  • Handling inbound calls to the adjusting team and providing updates or assistance where appropriate.
  • Contacting policyholders, brokers, suppliers and clients to arrange appointments, gather information and progress claims.
  • Managing customer expectations and maintaining clear communication throughout the claim.
  • Working closely with Loss Adjusters to understand claim requirements, priorities and technical considerations.
  • Progressing claims towards timely conclusions in line with client guidelines and service requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of claim progression and Adjuster support.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in property claims handling.
  • Minimum 2 years’ claims handling experience within the domestic insurance sector
  • Experience working alongside Property Loss Adjusters would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of the property claims lifecycle and domestic insurance claims.
  • Comfortable reviewing claim information, identifying actions and progressing claims towards a conclusion.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • IT literate and comfortable working across claims systems and case management platforms.

The role is home based and offers a salary of £26,400 to £32,000 depending upon experience and qualifications.
