Senior SDET AI Agentic Systems

Senior SDET — AI & Agentic Systems Location: Mexico City - Hybrid

We are looking for a Senior SDET to help build and assure our next-generation agentic products. This hands-on role suits an engineer who pairs deep automation expertise with strong software fundamentals and hands-on experience testing AI and agent-based systems in production. You'll define the automation and quality strategy for an Agile team — validating agentic workflows, LLM-powered features, APIs, and end-to-end reliability — while raising the engineering bar across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end quality engineering for agentic applications, intelligent workflows, APIs, UIs, and platform services.
• Design and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and regression testing.
• Define test strategies for AI/agent-based systems: workflow validation, response quality, tool usage, guardrails, and failure handling.
• Build automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-confidence releases.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and data/AI teams to build quality in from design through production.
• Create meaningful test data, validate edge cases, and drive root-cause analysis to resolution.
• Evaluate performance, reliability, observability, resilience, and scalability.
• Proactively identify gaps and mentor teammates on automation and quality best practices.

About You

• Strong experience in test automation, framework design, and code quality practices.
• Proven ability to test distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and user-facing apps.
• Experience validating AI-enabled or agentic applications: prompt/workflow validation and scenario-based testing.
• Solid grasp of Agile, shift-left testing, and CI/CD.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and applying innovative thinking to new challenges.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, with a bias for action.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or a similar automation language.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or REST Assured.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
• Understanding of test approaches for LLMs, retrieval workflows, and non-deterministic systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with observability, test data management, and performance testing is a plus.
