*Electrician ? Job Description*

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical systems, controls, and production equipment in accordance with electrical codes, manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety standards. This role supports day-to-day production by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and contributing to a safe, efficient food manufacturing environment.

*Key Responsibilities:*

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety policies, quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and standard operating procedures.
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, instrumentation, control panels, wiring, lighting, and related plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and other electrical or electronic control systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance, including inspections, testing, cleaning, tightening, calibration, and replacement of electrical components.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Identify and communicate electrical hazards, equipment concerns, and repair requirements to maintenance leadership, production supervisors, and operators.
• Support production uptime by responding to electrical breakdowns, completing repairs efficiently, and assisting operators with routine equipment checks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection results, and related documentation as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and other regulatory or company requirements when performing maintenance activities.
• Perform other duties and special assignments as requested by management.

*Qualifications:*

• Valid Electrician licence or equivalent electrical trade certification.
• Minimum 2?3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food processing experience is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, variable frequency drives, sensors, instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, control panels, conveyors, and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and electrical repair skills.
• Knowledge of workplace and electrical safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash awareness, and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills.
