The Farm Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management, and day-to-day operations of the farm. The role involves supervising farm employees, maintaining farm equipment and facilities, while ensuring quality standards and safety requirements are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and managing other support staff
• Should be able to manage all daily farm activities

• To plan and supervise the cultivation, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling of coffee, matooke, and other seasonal crops
• To monitor plant health, implement fertilization, pruning, stumping, shredding, spraying of pesticides and herbicides, and slashing

• Good understanding of soil fertility, crop and animal nutrition, pest and disease control
• Monitor cultivation, harvesting, feeding, breeding and other production activities.

• Monitor Crop and animal health and coordinate with Agricultural and veterinary specialists when necessary
• Prepare regular farm performance and production reports for management

• Plan, coordinate and supervise the daily farm operations.
• Collaborate with other department leads

• Knowledge about coffee is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of coffee and bananas is an added advantage

• Ability to work independently
• Should have practical experience and knowledge managing crops and animals

Candidate specification

Educational requirements : Diploma or Bachelor's in Agriculture or Agronomy or agricultural management or agroforestry or Horticulture and any related field

Work experience : 3-5 years of practical experience in managing the Farm
