Assistant Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Assistant Management Accountant to join an established and forward-thinking professional services firm based in North West London.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play an important role within the finance function, supporting the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting and the day-to-day running of the accounts function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their accounting skills, gain broader exposure to management accounting and take on increasing responsibility within a growing professional services environment.

The Role:

• Support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the finance function.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Support budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and forecasting.
• Assist with financial analysis, reporting and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure information is produced in a timely and accurate manner.
• Help improve financial processes through the use of technology, automation and AI.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and provide wider support to the Financial Controller.

About You:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
• Good understanding of management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using Xero, Sage or similar accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Tech-savvy with an interest in AI, automation and improving financial processes.
