Perform welding operations using processes such as SMAW, GTAW, MIG, and TIG on various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure correct fabrication and repairs.
Conduct pre-weld preparation activities including material cleaning, fit-up, and alignment.
Inspect own welds visually and prepare workpieces for quality inspection by supervisors or quality personnel.
Carry out basic cutting, grinding, and finishing work as part of welding and fabrication tasks.
Ensure compliance with welding procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Complete welding job reports and related documentation as required.
Maintain welding tools, machines, and work area in good condition following 5S standards.
Support workshop and site operations as instructed by the Foreman or Assistant Foreman.
Travel to customer sites, shipyards, or vessels to perform on-site welding works, including boarding of vessels while adhering to marine and offshore safety protocols.
Comply with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and company HSE policies at all times.
Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Report any unsafe acts, near misses, or incidents promptly.
Support site audits and inspections when required by regulatory bodies or internal stakeholders.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of welding experience in a workshop, marine, or industrial setting.
Skilled in at least one or more welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, MIG,TIG).
Ability to work independently and follow instructions under minimal supervision.
Willingness and ability to travel for site welding jobs, including boarding ships or working in shipyards. Experience with welding marine engine components or similar heavy equipment.
Familiarity with offshore or marine welding standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
Certified in confined space entry, hot work, or working at height.
