Aircraft Appearance Mechanic

Synopsis

The aircraft appearance mechanic is responsible for overseeing all pest control and fumigation activities across the entire Etihad fleet and its partner airlines. This role ensures that all Etihad aircraft adhere to regulatory requirements for aircraft disinsection and pest control. Additionally, the position involves operating the mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) to support all exterior dry wash and technical cleaning operations.

Accountabilities

Safety & quality: Ensure strict adherence to Etihad Airways' safety & quality and regulatory procedures. Verify that all tasks performed for Etihad are executed in full compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations.

Ensure the appropriate use of company-issued equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and tooling.

Operational performance: Strategically plan all scheduled pest control activities, workload distribution, and pest control initiatives, including aircraft exterior appearance and technical cleaning operations.

Confirm that all activities are conducted within the scope of approval and in accordance with applicable AMM, TPM, and AMOS job cards.

Sign off completed work after verifying its execution aligns with approved data and has received oversight/certification by designated certifying staff.

Maintain established standards. Foster a safe and secure working environment for all Etihad employees.

Actively promote a positive reporting culture among colleagues.

Accept appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution.

Qualifications

Education & experience

Basic aviation familiarity and experience / apprenticeship.

Two years working in a live aviation environment in ramp operations.

Extensive knowledge of aircraft disinsection, disinfection, and pest control gained in line and hangar environment covering all aspects of routine maintenance and pest control standards (residual, remedial disinsection).

Good English written and vocal communication skills.

Experience in MEWP handling and operation.

UAE driving license preferable.
