Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Home Care Personal Assistants to support individuals in living independently and safely within their own homes. As a Home Care Personal Assistant, you will provide person-centred care tailored to each client's individual needs while promoting dignity, respect, independence, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver person-centred care and support to children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence support Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe moving and handling techniques Support clients with medication reminders in line with individual care plans Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding where needed Carry out light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment Help service users build independence, develop life skills, and engage socially Plan and deliver structured activities, group sessions, and individualised support plans Accompany and drive clients to medical appointments, shopping, social activities, and community outings Provide companionship and emotional support to help reduce social isolation Encourage independence and choice while assisting with daily living activities Monitor clients' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to the Care Coordinator or Clinical Team Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team Maintain accurate care records, reports, and documentation Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality policies

Essential Requirements QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (Care Skills and Care of the Older Person) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this qualification Minimum of 2 years' experience in disability services, social care, or a healthcare/residential care setting Experience supporting older adults or individuals with disabilities Previous experience in home care, healthcare, disability support, or personal

Desirable: Access to a vehicle. Manual Handling and Patient Moving & Handling training. First Aid certification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Salary Minimum €32,691 Per Annum €16.12 Per Hour 39 Hours Per Week
