Switchboard Design Engineer
Job Summary ElectraTec is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Switchboard Design Engineer to join its Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design of low voltage switchboards and Medium Voltage Ring Main Units ensuring compliance with customer specifications, IEC standards, license guid lines and company quality requirements. The role requires close coordination with the sales, estimation, production, procurement, and project teams to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design Low Voltage switchboards and Medium Voltage Ring Main Units, including Main Distribution Boards (MDB), Motor Control Centers (MCC), Power Control Centers (PCC), Synchronization Panels, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Panels, Capacitor Banks, and Control Panels.
Review customer specifications, tender documents, electrical drawings, and single-line diagrams to develop compliant design solutions.
Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM).
Select suitable electrical components, busbar systems, protection devices, and enclosure configurations.
Ensure designs comply with IEC standards, license guid lines and company engineering practices.
Coordinate with the procurement department to optimize component selection and material availability.
Provide technical support to production during manufacturing and assembly.
Resolve design-related issues during production, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site commissioning when required.
Prepare manufacturing drawings and documentation for production.
Participate in value engineering initiatives to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturability.
Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
Support the sales team with technical clarifications and pre-sales engineering when required.
Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions when necessary.

AutoCAD Electrical
EPLAN Electric P8 (preferred)

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
ERP systems (preferred)
Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D design software is considered an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in the design of Low Voltage electrical switchboards.
Experience with electrical panel manufacturers is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience in preparing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
Familiarity with major component manufacturers such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Eaton, or Legrand.
