Job Description: Business Analyst, Front Office

Location: Singapore

About Us

Dymon Asia Capital (“Dymon Asia”), founded in 2008, is a leading alternative investment firm with assets across public and private markets. The firm’s flagship hedge fund product is the Multi-Strategy Investment Fund (MSIF), an Asia-focused multi-manager multi-strategy fund that seeks to generate absolute consistent uncorrelated returns from emerging and developed markets.

Headquartered in Singapore, Dymon Asia operates from nine offices across the Middle East and Asia, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Kuala Lumpur. Our platform is built on our people. We bring together diverse perspectives, expertise, and experience across our multi-strategy and private markets businesses. Maintaining a collaborative culture where our people are set up to do their best work is central to how we operate.

We are building Dymension, a modern front-office Risk and PnL platform replacing our legacy risk infrastructure across all asset classes. The platform serves portfolio managers, the Risk team, and senior management, and is delivered in successive waves spanning asset-class grids, aggregation logic, factor and stress analytics, and monitoring limits.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to work alongside the Platform Product Manager and embed directly within the Engineering squads, owning detailed JIRA story elaboration, day-to-day scrum participation, QA, and functional sign-off, so that Engineering receives unambiguous, testable specifications and every release meets the quality bar before it reaches users.

Key Responsibilities

JIRA story detailing: Break epics down into detailed, development-ready JIRA stories with precise acceptance criteria — grid specifications, column dictionaries, KPI panels, aggregation rules, and UI behaviors (column ordering, choosers, toggles, drilldowns).

Engineering partnership: Work day-to-day with the Dymension engineering squads — participate in scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, refinement, retrospectives), answer requirement queries in real time, and unblock developers so sprints keep moving.

QA & testing: Design and execute functional test cases against acceptance criteria, validate data outputs against upstream sources (trade/position JSON schemas, risk engine outputs, factor model files), triage defects, and enforce fix-verify-close discipline every sprint.

Sign-off: Own functional sign-off of completed stories and releases -verify delivered behavior against specification, coordinate UAT with Risk and front-office users, and provide the go/no-go recommendation before rollout.

Stakeholder analysis: Capture workflows from Risk, Quant, and PM users across asset classes and translate them into functional specifications; run walkthroughs and secure stakeholder sign-offs on requirements.

Delivery hygiene: Maintain requirements traceability, decision logs, and sprint documentation across the book of work.

Job Requirements

Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in front-office or risk technology at a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, or buy-side technology provider.

Strong hands-on Agile/Scrum experience, with active participation in all scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming/refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives) while embedded with engineering teams; strong command of JIRA and Confluence.

Solid working knowledge of market risk and PnL concepts, including Greeks, sensitivities, VaR, stress testing, factor models, and PnL attribution.

Multi-asset product knowledge across at least two of: rates (swaps, swaptions, caps/floors), FX, equities and equity derivatives (including variance/volatility products), commodities, or credit.

Hands-on data analysis skills, including SQL and comfort with JSON/parquet data structures, with the ability to independently interrogate large datasets to validate requirements and test outputs (Python or Databricks a plus).

Ability to write meticulous specifications and test cases, resolving ambiguity quickly and driving decisions to closure with risk managers, quant, and engineers.

Prior experience on a risk platform builds or migration replacing legacy risk/PnL systems is desirable.

Exposure to market data infrastructure (volatility surfaces, curves, vendor feeds) and grid-based front-office UIs with real-time data delivery is desirable.
