Role Description The Cyber Security Trainer will deliver structured, practical training programs in cybersecurity at the Digital Skills Centre’s Ikorodu, Lagos location. This full-time, on-site role involves planning and teaching courses on core security domains, designing hands-on labs, and guiding learners through real-world scenarios such as securing networks, applications, and information systems. The trainer will create and update learning materials, assess learner progress through assignments and evaluations, and provide constructive feedback and mentorship. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, demonstrating tools and techniques, supporting learners during projects, and collaborating with the training team to align content with industry standards and certification pathways. The Cyber Security Trainer will also help refine curricula based on emerging threats and technologies, ensuring learners are job-ready for roles in cybersecurity. Qualifications

Strong knowledge in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to diverse learners. Practical expertise in Network Security, including securing network infrastructures, configuring firewalls, and monitoring for threats. Experience in Application Security, covering secure coding principles, vulnerability assessment, and mitigation strategies. Skills in Malware Analysis, including identifying, analyzing, and responding to malicious software and related threats. Previous experience as a trainer, instructor, or facilitator in IT or cybersecurity, or equivalent mentoring/teaching experience. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar are highly beneficial. Ability to design practical labs, projects, and assessments that reflect real-world security challenges. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage beginners and advanced learners alike. Comfort working on-site in Ikorodu, Lagos, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary training team. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is an advantage.
