Education: College/CEGEP.

Tasks:

• Design dental devices.
• Fabricate and repair crowns, bridges or implants.
• Prepare plaster models and moulds.
• Supervise technical staff.
• Train other dental technicians.
• Maintain and order supplies.
• Mould wax over dentures set-up.
• Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays.
• Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures.
• Polish and buff dentures.

Supervision: 1 to 2 people.

Technical expertise (dental):

• Plastering.
• Packing.
• Waxing-up.
• Polishing.
• Assembly.

Area of specialization:

• Full dentures.
• Partial dentures.
• Crowns and bridges.
• Ceramic or porcelain application.
