AV Lead / Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and provide AV/VC technical support for internal and external meetings, webinars, events, recordings and video productions.
• Set up, operate and manage AV/VC systems, control room and studio equipment for physical and virtual events, live streaming and recordings.
• Understand users’ requirements and provide appropriate technical support to ensure smooth event operations.
• Plan and manage schedules for multiple events, ensuring all AV equipment is properly set up and tested at least 30 minutes before the event.
• Conduct regular daily, weekly and monthly inspections, as well as preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of AV/VC, recording studio and live-streaming equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and service issues, and coordinate corrective actions, repairs, replacements and upgrading works.
• Coordinate with AV, VC, audio-visual equipment and cleaning contractors for event setup, maintenance and rectification works.
• Supervise and monitor AV contractors to ensure services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories, equipment labelling, maintenance records, incident reports and other documentation required for audit and operational purposes.
• Ensure engineering system information, drawings, operation manuals and other relevant databases are kept up to date.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the creation, recording and post-production of multimedia content.
• Prepare and maintain weekly maintenance reports and other operational records.
• Perform any other AV/VC-related duties as required to support operational needs.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Media, Mass Communications, AV, Film/Media Studies or a related field. Candidates with NITEC/Higher NITEC in Facility Management, Mechanical & Electrical Services or equivalent qualifications are also welcome.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in AV/VC operations, broadcasting, live production, equipment troubleshooting, maintenance or facility management.
• Candidates applying for the AV Lead level should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience in operating and maintaining AV/VC systems for physical and virtual events, live productions, webinars and recordings.
• Good understanding of AV equipment including cameras, video switchers, lighting and sound systems.
• Experience with video production, filming equipment and studio production, including experience working on production sets or as part of a production team.
• Familiarity with AV/VC systems such as Crestron, Extron and Bosch.
• Familiarity with live-streaming and video production software such as TriCaster, OBS and vMix.
• For AV Lead candidates, experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro, as well as video and photography skills, is preferred.
• Experience in project management, particularly for large-scale AV implementations, will be an advantage.
• Good awareness of current and emerging broadcasting, AV and VC technologies.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Good communication, writing and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
