Wolverhampton | Days | No Nights, Weekends or On-Call A maintenance role where you can actually maintain equipment, rather than spend every shift firefighting. We're recruiting for a modern, largely automated manufacturing site producing high-volume engineered components for automotive and wider industrial customers. It's a relatively small operation within a much larger group, and we're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to take responsibility for maintenance across the site. You'll be the main maintenance engineer on site, working alongside an apprentice, so you'll need the confidence and breadth of knowledge to deal with whatever manufacturing throws at you. The good news? There's already a maintenance structure in place, with a genuine emphasis on planned and preventative maintenance rather than endless breakdowns . And there's no night shift, weekend working or on-call rota. The role You'll look after a mixture of traditional manufacturing equipment and modern automated plant, including: Mechanical and electrical maintenance

Planned and preventative maintenance

Fault finding and breakdown support

PLC-controlled machinery

Automated production equipment

Robotics

Motors, drives, sensors and associated electrical systems

Mechanical systems and traditional production equipment

Supporting equipment improvements and reliability projects

Working with and developing the site's maintenance apprentice

What we're looking for You'll need to be a genuinely multi-skilled engineer , comfortable getting involved mechanically and electrically. You'll ideally have: Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment

Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

Good electrical maintenance and fault-finding ability

18th Edition

Experience with PLC-controlled equipment

Exposure to automation and/or robotics

Experience of planned preventative maintenance

The confidence to operate as the site's principal maintenance engineer

Automotive manufacturing experience would be useful, but isn't essential. What's more important is experience of maintaining high-volume production machinery and being equally comfortable with older mechanical equipment and modern automated systems. This is a good opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants ownership of a site, varied equipment and sensible working hours without nights, weekends or being permanently attached to an on-call phone.
