ABOUT THE ROLE

A multi-company investment and operations firm is hiring its first dedicated Director of IT to build and lead IT operations across a holding company and its portfolio. You will work with a fractional senior IT and security advisor and a managed service provider, creating shared processes while accounting for each portfolio company's needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the IT workstream for acquisitions, including technology inventory, access mapping, account and device setup, and systems integration.
  • Build and run a Day 1 to 100 acquisition integration playbook across an active portfolio.
  • Design and operate joiner, mover, and leaver workflows, including complete employee offboarding.
  • Own the identity platform after its selection and rollout, including single sign-on, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, accounts, credentials, licenses, and renewal dates to support consolidation and security decisions.
  • Manage managed service provider performance, service-level agreements, vendor contracts, renewals, and license consolidation.
  • Build backend connections that support a cross-portfolio data platform.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Six to ten years of hands-on experience in IT operations, systems administration, or managed service provider or consulting delivery, including at least three years in IT leadership.
  • Experience supporting multiple companies, business units, or clients, and owning acquisition IT work from due diligence through post-close integration.
  • Strong identity and access management skills with platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or JumpCloud.
  • Experience with vendor and license management, contract negotiation, and service-level oversight.
  • Ability to map undocumented technology environments, develop playbooks, and work with stakeholders across organizational levels.
  • Experience with portfolio or holding company operations is beneficial. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration, or experience in regulated industries, is also beneficial.
