Head of Financial Reporting

Churchill Howard are partnering with an instantly recognisable Midlands plc to recruit a Head of Financial Reporting who can lead a team in the delivery of best in class financial reporting for the business. This is a broad, technically focussed leadership role with responsibilities including:

• Leading the preparation of annual accounts and interim results
• Taking ownership for all financial aspects of the annual report
• Manage audit relationships and take the lead on the annual audit process
• Manage, develop and motivate a team of finance professionals
• Overseeing the roll out of new accounting standards and provide technical guidance across the business
• Developing a continuous improvement mindset throughout the team and driving excellence in reporting processes

We are looking for:

• A qualified accountant with technical background in financial reporting for a listed business (ACA or equivalent)
• Up to date technical knowledge, specifically around IFRS standards for statutory reporting
• Experience of leading and motivating a team and a willingness to be hands on when necessary
• Ability to demystify and communicate complex accounting information in an easy-to-understand way
• Practice training with post practice industry experience in a technical reporting role is highly desirable.
