Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor / Room Inspector is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. This role supervises housekeeping team members, inspects guest rooms and public areas, provides coaching and training.

Key Responsibilities: Room Inspection

  • Inspect guest rooms after cleaning to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation meet hotel standards.
  • Verify all guest amenities, linens, and supplies are properly stocked.
  • Ensure vacant rooms are guest-ready and released promptly to the Front Desk.
  • Identify and report maintenance deficiencies using the hotel's maintenance reporting system.
  • Perform follow-up inspections to ensure deficiencies have been corrected.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise and support Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Laundry staff during assigned shifts.
  • Assign daily work schedules and prioritize room assignments.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of work.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new housekeeping employees.

Guest Service

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping concerns.
  • Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance to resolve guest issues quickly.
  • Promote a positive guest experience through attention to detail and service excellence.

Inventory & Supplies

  • Monitor housekeeping inventory levels.
  • Report supply shortages and equipment needs.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Ensure housekeeping carts and storage areas remain organized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
  • Minimum 1?2 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards and inspection procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. (*WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY*)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg), and perform physically demanding tasks.

Reporting Relationship

*Reports To:* Housekeeping Manager

*Supervises:* Room Attendants, Housepersons, Laundry Attendants, and other housekeeping team members as assigned.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
