Job Summary

Manage full sets of accounts and financial processes to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient cash flow management for a dynamic company in the construction-related sector.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain full sets of accounts including invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledgers to ensure accurate financial records
  • Ensure all accounting entries and procedures comply with company policies and timely issuance of invoices to vendors and suppliers
  • Prepare, verify, and maintain payroll records, payslips, claims, and petty cash reimbursements to support staff compensation processes
  • Monitor cash flows and accounts aging to maintain financial stability and support decision-making
  • Prepare monthly financial reports to provide insights on company financial performance
  • Liaise with auditors, bankers, suppliers, and internal or external parties to resolve accounting and financial matters
  • Prepare supporting returns and schedules for tax and statutory reporting, including quarterly tax reports, to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and manage project costing, cash flow forecasts, cash collection banking, bank reconciliations, and special projects to support financial planning
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as assigned to support business operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy
  • Experience in civil construction accounting or related industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Experience managing full sets of accounts
  • Experience with work-in-progress accounting for construction projects is an added advantage
  • Strong communication, analytical, writing, and follow-up skills to effectively manage financial tasks and stakeholder interactions
  • Meticulous and organized to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to speak Mandarin to liaise with associates
  • Available to start immediately or within a short notice period is preferred
