Senior/Lead Engineer — Digital Asset Infrastructure
Capital Sage Technology is building regulated digital-asset infrastructure for the Nigerian market, the compliant financial infrastructure layer that banks, fintechs and corporates plug into. Not a retail crypto exchange. Real financial-market infrastructure, built for a regulatory environment that's evolving fast.
We're looking for a founding-level senior engineer to lead this build end-to-end; owning the architecture decisions everything else depends on, working directly with our founder and legal counsel as the product takes shape.
What you'll own
Architect core digital-asset infrastructure, regulated settlement flows, KYC/KYB, custody, and compliance/reporting systems Make foundational calls on custody and system design that shape our licensing posture and long-term defensibility Design an API layer built for bank and enterprise integration from day one Partner directly with legal/compliance counsel so system design matches real regulatory requirements, not guesswork Build for a regulatory environment that's still moving, and grow the engineering team as we scale past founding stage
What we're looking for
7+ years in software engineering, 3+ in a senior/lead or founding-engineer role owning architecture end-to-end Experience building financial infrastructure: payments, settlement, ledgers, or banking-adjacent platforms Strong backend/cloud architecture skills (AWS or equivalent), and comfort designing for audit, compliance and access control as first-class requirements Working knowledge of blockchain/distributed-ledger concepts: wallets, custody, stablecoins, tokenization Bonus: African fintech/payments experience, or exposure to a live regulatory sandbox process (SEC, CBN, or equivalent)
Location: Lagos or Accra (hybrid)
Direct access to the founder — this is a build-the-spec role, not execute-the-spec
Full roadmap and technical specs shared under NDA at interview stage.
