Senior Manager, Markets & Offtake
How do you turn a growing renewable energy portfolio into revenue? That question will be yours to answer as our new Senior Manager, Markets & Offtake in BeGreen's Commercial Team.
You will own the revenue side of BeGreen's portfolio – defining how our assets generate value, whether through merchant market exposure, contractual offtake arrangements, or direct behind-the-meter supply. Just as importantly, you will build the relationships and commercial agreements needed to bring that strategy to life.
Our projects are fully equity-financed by Equinor, allowing us to take merchant risk without requiring a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to secure financing. As a result, your market view is not simply a formality for lenders. It forms a fundamental basis for investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own BeGreen's market outlook, including power prices, capture rates (the share of wholesale market prices our assets actually realise), negative price hours, and the value of ancillary services across DK1, DK2 and the Swedish bidding zones SE3 and SE4.
Approve the pricing and revenue assumptions used in investment cases before they are submitted for decision-making.
Own the realised revenues of operating assets, currently including Ingerslev Å and additional projects coming online over the coming years. This includes realised power prices, balancing costs, curtailment, and ancillary services revenues. You will also hold our optimisation and balancing partners accountable for delivering on their commitments.
Develop and negotiate offtake agreements, primarily balancing responsibility (BRP) and route-to-market/optimisation agreements on commercial terms, and PPAs where appropriate. Part of this activity is handled by Danske Commodities, Equinor's Danish energy trading business, requiring you to manage both internal collaboration and arm's length commercial relationships.
Build and manage a pipeline of behind-the-meter opportunities with data centres, district heating companies, industrial customers, and similar counterparties, taking opportunities from initial engagement through to signed agreements.
Own the commercial case for our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, including optimisation of revenue stacking across ancillary services, day-ahead and intraday markets.
Monitor market design developments and regulatory changes affecting revenues, including tariffs, ancillary services markets, and grid connection frameworks, and translate these developments into commercial implications for our investment cases.
You will work across both solar and battery storage assets, including operating facilities and projects approaching final investment decision and construction. Activities are primarily located in Denmark, with an expanding portfolio in Sweden.
Project sizes typically range from 20 MW to 400 MW, with investment volumes between €50 million and €350 million.
Who We Are Looking For
You have a minimum of five years of experience within the Nordic or European electricity markets and a strong understanding of power price formation, ancillary services markets, and common offtake structures.
You have managed commercial agreements from initial discussions through to signed contracts, whether in offtake, PPAs, route-to-market arrangements, or similar commercial structures.
You are highly analytical and comfortable working with financial and commercial models. You will have analytical support available for model development, but you will own the key questions, the quality of the answers, and the commercial decisions that follow.
This role requires both attention to detail and strategic perspective. You must be able to challenge a revenue model and then defend your conclusions before an investment committee. The next day, you may be negotiating commercial terms with a data centre developer or a district heating company.
You thrive in environments where not everything has already been defined and where there is no ready-made playbook. You are credible with senior external counterparties and effective in collaborating across internal functions. You can communicate complex commercial positions in a clear and accessible manner.
You are fluent in both Danish and English, written and spoken.
Experience with battery storage revenue streams, ancillary services markets, behind-the-meter solutions, or co-location opportunities is considered an advantage. We are open regarding your background and welcome candidates from energy trading, aggregationaggregators, utilities, project developersment, advisory services, or related sectors.
