About Badge More people now use Apple and Google Wallet than TikTok or Instagram. At Badge, we believe mobile wallets are the next big customer engagement channel, and we make it easy for enterprise brands and platforms to build in and monetize experiences in Apple and Google Wallets. From loyalty cards to stored value cards, memberships, IDs, and tickets, Badge helps brands drive retention, reactivation, and revenue by turning wallets into a powerful marketing channel. The Badge platform consists of a no-code UI for marketers, flexible APIs for developers, and an embed/SDK for platform partners, enabling companies to create dynamic wallet experiences with in-wallet push notifications, location-based notifications, offers, coupons, tap-to-redeem, and more. We are a fast-growing team backed by leading investors, including QED and Infinity, and trusted by top-tier retailers, grocers, and partner institutions including Shift4, Carrefour, Hoka, and Yale University. We value sharp thinking, fast execution, and a deep understanding of what drives customer behavior in a mobile-first world.

Position Overview We are looking for a Principal Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to our most strategic enterprise customers and prospects. This is a high-visibility role where you will be the technical voice in the room with CTOs, CPOs, and engineering leadership, translating Badge's platform into solutions that map directly to business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings executive presence, deep technical fluency, and a track record of leading complex technical scoping engagements where infrastructure ownership, data readiness, and stakeholder alignment were all ambiguous. Prior wallet experience is not required. What matters is the ability to walk into a messy enterprise situation, map the critical path, and drive it to resolution.

What You Will Do Lead executive-level discovery sessions with CTOs, CPOs, and VPs of Engineering to understand prospect architecture, business goals, and integration requirements.

Own the technical narrative throughout the pre-sales cycle, including live demos, proof-of-concept scoping, and solution presentations to senior stakeholders.

Lead complex technical scoping for enterprise integrations and migrations during the pre-sales phase, where ownership, data readiness, and sequencing are ambiguous. Identify blockers, map critical paths, and drive alignment across engineering teams on both sides of a deal.

Design integration architectures and onboarding workflows tailored to specific customer constraints, and hand off cleanly to Customer Success at contract close.

Respond to RFPs and technical questionnaires with detailed, accurate information about Badge's capabilities.

Surface pre-sales insights with Product and Engineering to improve the platform and onboarding experience.

Partner with Sales leadership on strategic accounts as a peer to customer engineering leadership throughout the pre-sales cycle.

What You Bring to the Table Based in the Northeast corridor for proximity to key customers and prospects, with occasional travel to customer sites and industry events.

5 to 8 years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or senior customer-facing technical roles in B2B SaaS.

Track record of owning technical sales cycles end-to-end, collaborating closely with account executives and sales leadership on demos, POCs, and RFP responses.

Demonstrated experience engaging with CTO, CPO, and VP-level stakeholders. You lead those rooms, not just participate in them.

Proven ability to scope and drive complex enterprise integrations or migrations where the technical landscape was not clean or well-documented coming in.

Strong executive presence with the ability to adapt your message for engineering teams and business leadership alike.

Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns.

Experience with mobile development concepts and mobile platform ecosystems (iOS/Android).

Familiarity with enterprise software architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and SaaS integrations.

Based on the East Coast. This role involves regular travel to customer sites and industry events in the region.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in payments, fintech, marketing technology, loyalty systems, or retail technology.

Background in platforms with complex data ownership and multi-stakeholder environments.

Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and sales engagement tools.

Understanding of enterprise security, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
