Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineer

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and pipelines for use in oil and gas extraction and processing.
• Perform detailed mechanical analysis and simulations to optimize design and functionality.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate new mechanical systems into existing operations and ensure seamless implementation.
• Conduct stress tests, dynamic analyses, and other evaluations on mechanical devices to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design files, specifications, and operational manuals.
• Monitor and report on the performance of mechanical systems, recommending improvements and troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and methods that can be applied to enhance asset integration and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance teams, ensuring best practices in mechanical integrity and reliability.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to ensure that all mechanical operations comply with environmental and safety regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas industry, focusing on the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Strong proficiency with engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ANSYS for design and simulation.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications pertinent to mechanical engineering in the petroleum sector.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in multidisciplinary teams and leading projects.
• Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE license) is highly advantageous.
