Corporate Account Executive

We are delighted to be working with one of the world's leading insurance broking organisations as it looks to strengthen its highly successful Corporate team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial insurance professional who wants to move beyond the SME/mid-market space and gain exposure to genuinely large, complex and prestigious corporate accounts.

Working closely with an experienced Director, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management and renewal process of a portfolio of major corporate clients, acting as a central point between the client, insurers and the numerous specialist teams involved in servicing these accounts.

Depending on the client, you could be coordinating specialists across areas such as property, casualty, cyber, risk management and other specialist classes. You aren't expected to be the technical expert in every area. Instead, you'll need to understand your client's business, recognise what they need and make sure the right specialists from across the organisation are brought together at the right time.

Although you'll play an important role in managing renewals and the ongoing servicing of accounts, you'll become closely involved in understanding your clients' businesses and identifying opportunities to provide additional support. One particularly interesting aspect of the role is the ability to work with clients around risk management initiatives. This can include negotiating significant risk management bursaries to fund projects such as Business Continuity Planning and Business Interruption reviews – adding genuine value to the client relationship while contributing towards the growth of the account.

As you'd expect from a global insurance broker, that can also mean working with colleagues across different offices, countries and territories. You'll therefore need to be tenacious, organised and commercially astute, with the confidence to build strong relationships both with clients and internally. It's the type of role where you'll gradually develop a much broader understanding of complex corporate insurance and how major businesses manage risk.

Naturally, we'd be interested in hearing from experienced Account Executives who already have exposure to larger commercial or corporate clients. However, we're equally interested in speaking with ambitious individuals whose current job title might not immediately appear to be an obvious match. For example, you may currently be a highly experienced Account Handler, already dealing with complex commercial insurance programmes and feeling ready to take the next step.

Technical insurance knowledge is important, but so are intelligence, tenacity and the ability to get things done. You'll need to be someone who can build relationships, coordinate numerous parties and confidently navigate a large organisation on behalf of your clients.

This is an organisation that can offer considerably more than simply another insurance job. You'll be working alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry, dealing with major corporate clients and gaining exposure to areas of insurance that simply aren't available within many smaller broking environments.

For someone ambitious, it provides an excellent platform from which to continue developing towards a more senior position in the future.

The company operates a hybrid working model, typically split approximately 50/50 between home working and time spent in the Leeds office or visiting clients.
