About the Role

We're looking for a creative and collaborative Choreographer to design, teach, and refine original movement across performances, rehearsals, and productions. You'll work closely with directors, dancers, and production teams to bring artistic visions to life through purposeful, expressive movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and create original choreography aligned with each project's theme, music, and narrative intent.
• Lead rehearsals: teach, correct, and polish sequences with dancers of varying skill levels.
• Collaborate with directors, composers, costume designers, and lighting teams to ensure cohesive staging.
• Adapt and refine routines based on feedback, performer strengths, and spatial or technical constraints.
• Document choreography (video, notation, or written cues) for continuity and rehearsal reference.
• Support auditions by preparing combinations and assessing candidate suitability.
• Maintain safe warm-up and conditioning practices to reduce injury risk during intensive rehearsal periods.

Skills & Competencies We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience creating choreography for stage, screen, or live performance.
• Strong command of one or more dance genres (e.g. contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, traditional/folk forms).
• Ability to translate abstract concepts or musicality into clear movement vocabulary.
• Skilled at teaching and communicating movement efficiently to diverse groups.
• Comfortable giving and receiving constructive artistic feedback.
• Proficiency with basic video editing or notation tools is an advantage.
• Reliable time management across multiple projects and rehearsal schedules.

• Performers execute pieces confidently and in sync within agreed timelines.
• Choreography supports the storytelling and receives positive artistic direction feedback.
• Rehearsal processes run efficiently with minimal downtime.

Working Arrangements

This role involves regular evening, weekend, and rehearsal-block hours; specific scheduling will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
