Education:

Master's degree.

Work setting:

Urban area. Regional gallery. Museum.

Tasks:

• Restore and conserve museum and gallery artifacts.
• Provide advice on display and storage of artifacts to insure proper maintenance and preservation.
• Provide consultation to museums, art galleries or private individuals.
• Research new conservation and restoration techniques.

Security and safety:

Criminal record check.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
