Andrew Fleck Children?s Services is hiring an ECE Assistant for our Intergenerational Early Learning Centre! Do you have an interest in learning more about how Seniors involvement in child care enhances the overall quality of our child care programs? Are you Interested in working outdoors in nearby by forest experiences with our children? If this sounds like you, read further. In this role you will assist the Early Childhood Educators (RECE) in providing a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, healthy, and safe environment to meet the needs of children in the group setting.
Our Mooney?s Bay Intergenerational Early Learning Centre is a 5-classroom facility that backs onto green space and offers high quality, inclusive, and accessible programs for infants and children 3 months to 5 years old. We offer an Intergenerational and Forest & Nature School Program where young children and mature adults share their days in a mutually respective environment.
*WHAT DOES AN INTERGENERATIONAL PROGRAM DO FOR THE COMMUNITY?*
- Brings young people and ?young at heart? adults together in various settings to interact, engage, educate, support, and provide care for one another
- Focuses on society?s two most vulnerable sectors ? children and seniors
- Provides opportunities for children and seniors to enjoy activities together in various spaces (child care centre, senior centre, parks) developing a sense of community
Available from: October 12, 2026 to February 26, 2027
Salary: $23.89 to $27.12 per hour
Compensation Includes: 3 weeks of annual vacation, Benefits Plan, Paid sick leave, 2 personal days, Special leave
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, Shifts between 7:15 am and 5:30 pm

*In this role you will?*
? Meet children?s needs for continuance of care, routines and education in the absence of a regular caregiver
? Implement program plans daily
? Observe children?s behaviours and levels of participation
? Attend to physical needs of children
?Assist in maintaining a healthy and safe environment
? Ensure positive communication with parents
*To qualify for this role you have?*
? Previous experience assisting in early learning and care environments or working directly with children
? Clear Police Record Check (Vulnerable sector) completed in the last 6 months
? Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
? Demonstrate understanding of a licensed group care environment
? Proven ability to work closely with other team members
? Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
? Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
? Early Childhood Education diploma or degree from a recognized college or university or other equivalent education (would be an asset)
? An additional language (would be an asset)
