Fleet Officer
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the daily availability and deployment of riders, drivers, and vehicles based on operational requirements. Source, onboard, verify, and maintain relationships with reliable third-party delivery and fleet partners. Work closely with the Order Management team to assign suitable delivery partners based on location, capacity, availability, and delivery requirements. Monitor fleet utilization, trip progress, partner performance, and delivery completion, escalating operational issues promptly. Coordinate the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of company-assigned vehicles or equipment where applicable. Investigate and report accidents, breakdowns, misconduct, service failures, and other fleet-related incidents. Reconcile completed trips and supporting records to facilitate accurate and timely payment to delivery partners. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet availability, utilization, performance, incidents, and outstanding issues. Analyze fleet data, identify operational gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance availability, cost efficiency, and service delivery. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of riders, drivers, vehicles, licenses, insurance, permits, and other required documentation. Confirm that assigned vehicles and delivery partners meet the company’s safety, service, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
A BA/BSc, HND, or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. At least two years of relevant experience in fleet coordination, transport operations, dispatch, logistics, or a related role. Good understanding of third-party fleet management and asset-light logistics operations. Experience sourcing, onboarding, and managing riders, drivers, vehicle owners, or transport vendors. Knowledge of vehicle documentation, road safety requirements, maintenance processes, and regulatory compliance. Strong coordination, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills. Ability to manage multiple delivery partners and respond promptly to operational issues. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate fleet and trip records. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and relevant fleet or logistics platforms. Ability to analyze operational data, prepare reports, and recommend practical improvements. Willingness to work flexible hours based on operational requirements. A reliable, accountable, and results-driven approach to work.
