QA Engineer (Mid/Senior) — Digital Bank — Tokyo

Abbeal is an international IT consulting firm (France, Japan, Canada) placing engineers on high-impact product teams. Through Abbeal, build the quality foundations of a from-scratch digital bank in Tokyo.

Context

You will build the quality foundations of a greenfield digital bank in Tokyo — a joint venture between a leading Japanese FinTech and a major banking group. Shift-left mindset, native CI/CD. English is the working language; Japanese is not required (no JLPT requirement).

Your Mission

Design and implement automated tests across the stack (UI, API, integration)

Build and maintain CI/CD quality gates (GitHub Actions)

Own test coverage and release quality on a from-scratch banking product

Collaborate closely with developers in a shift-left model

Profile

Currently based in Japan with valid work authorization — no relocation or visa sponsorship from overseas for this role

3+ years (mid to senior) in QA / test automation

Hands-on with Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, and pytest

Python and/or TypeScript; GitHub Actions

Fluent English; Japanese not required

Location and Setup

Tokyo — hybrid. Permanent or contract options depending on profile. Hired and supported by Abbeal (visa sponsorship + Mobbeal expat support). Indicative range ¥7M–¥13M/year depending on experience.
