Part-Time Permanent (Guaranteed 20 hours a week) Reports Gateway House/Central Avenue Supervisor
Responsibilities:
To work with the clients of the YWCA Central Avenue Shelter, providing guidance, support andlife skills to empower and promote independence. To maintain a clean and secure facility and assist theresidents when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and a clean abstract.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges, substance use concerns, and/or cognitive disabilities.
- Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace.
- Work well in a crisis.
- Must be able to lift heavy items/preform heavy cleaning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with strong computer skills.
- Must pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Duties:
- Guide the residents, providing support and advocacy, as they transition into adulthood/independence.
- Must be a good role model to the youth/clients.
- Maintain building security, perform room checks/bag checks.
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores.
- Attend staff meetings, training & workshops as required.
- Provide feedback to Manager on client issues, major events and incident reports.
- Attend to crises as they arise during non office hours.
- Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis.
- Ensure all YWCA Prince Albert policies are adhered to.
- Ensure all policies related to MSS, CPS/YO & CSC are adhered to.
- Must be able to cover shifts with little to very short notice.
- Must be able to work both evenings, weekends and holidays.
