Accountant/Bookkeeper
Responsibilities:
Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Perform regular bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and profit-and-loss reports. Expense Management: Track, review, and categorize company expenses, ensuring proper documentation, authorization, and receipt matching. Support the preparation and filing of statutory remittances (e.g., VAT, WHT, PAYE, and corporate income taxes) under supervision. Organize financial documents, invoices, and ledgers to support internal and external audits. Actively learn and adapt to our internal accounting workflows, enterprise software, and advanced bookkeeping best practices.
Requirements:
Minimum of a B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. A minimum of 1–3 years of proven experience in an accounting or finance role (fresh graduates with exceptional academic records and a strong practical grasp of bookkeeping fundamentals will be considered). Solid understanding of GAAP / IFRS standards and fundamental accounting equations. Demonstrated familiarity with basic bookkeeping principles (double-entry bookkeeping, trial balances, and ledger maintenance). Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic financial modeling). Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Zoho Books) is a strong advantage, though training will be provided.
