TECHNICIAN

Assemble, install and wire electrical control panels according to approved electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Install circuit breakers, contactors, relays, timers, overload relays, PLCs, VFDs and other control components.

Ensure proper cable routing, termination, ferruling, labelling and earthing.

Verify panel dimensions, component layout and cable entries before installation. Carry out continuity, insulation resistance and electrical functional tests using appropriate test instruments. Check control circuits, power circuits, interlocks and protection devices.

Verify wiring against approved schematic diagrams and control logic.

Rectify wiring faults and report any defects or discrepancies. Install and test control panels for hydrant pumps, jockey pumps, hose reel pumps, drainage pumps and other pumping systems, as applicable.

Verify pump start/stop controls, level switches, pressure transmitters, alarms and interlocks.

Check duty/standby pump changeover and fault indication functions.

Assist in testing and commissioning to confirm operation according to approved drawings and specifications.
