*Company Overveiw*

Pharmasave is one of Canada?s leading independently owned and operated community pharmacy banners, with more than 900 stores across the country. Since 1981, we have combined the strength of a national organization with the local insight and independence of community pharmacies.

This is an opportunity to help shape the data foundation behind better reporting, analytics, and decision-making across a complex Canadian retail and pharmacy network.

*The Opportunity*

We are seeking a full-time Data Architect to support the evolution of Pharmasave?s enterprise data architecture and data enablement work. Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Technology, ERP & Data Enablement, you will work with business owners, delivery teams, security, infrastructure, and external partners to translate business needs into practical data designs, models, integration patterns, governance guidance, and technical documentation. Your work will help strengthen the quality, accessibility, security, and long-term value of enterprise data.

*This is a 12-month opportunity, with the possibility of extension based on the project?s needs and progress.*

*What You Will Be Accountable For*

  • Shape and maintain enterprise data architecture roadmaps, standards, models, and scalable design options, clearly documenting dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Translate business, reporting, and analytics needs into practical data platform, integration, API, pipeline, and semantic-layer designs; assess technology and partner solutions for fit, scalability, risk, supportability, and cost.
  • Advance data governance by defining practical approaches to ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, definitions, and quality, while enabling trusted information for KPIs, reporting, analytics, and future AI capabilities.
  • Embed privacy, security, access, retention, resilience, and regulatory requirements into data architecture, partnering with control functions to identify gaps, manage risk, and support responsible data use and business continuity.
  • Lead architecture workshops and solution reviews, communicate technical considerations in clear business language, and build effective relationships across internal teams, senior leaders, vendors, consultants, and delivery partners.

*What Success Looks Like*

Success in this role means delivering clear, timely, and practical architecture guidance that helps leaders and delivery teams make sound decisions.

You will provide data models, standards, options, and documentation that are current and usable; identify material risks and dependencies early; and help business owners and stewards strengthen data definitions, quality, lineage, and access practices. Stakeholders will view your advice as understandable, balanced, and useful for planning and implementation.

*What You Bring*

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise data architecture and conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
  • Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, cloud or hybrid analytics architecture, semantic layers, and enterprise reporting environments.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, enterprise integration, API architecture, SQL, and relational database design.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, stewardship, master data management, metadata, lineage, data quality, privacy, security, retention, and access-control principles.
  • Experience developing architecture documentation, integration patterns, or analytics-environment designs for senior technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical options and recommendations.
  • Clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate and influence without direct authority.
  • A bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
