Accounts Assistant

Location: Kettering Salary: £28,000 + Benefits

NRG are delighted to be working with a vibrant and growing business services organisation that is seeking to recruit an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive and forward-thinking business. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while gaining exposure to wider business and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing and posting supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Creating, posting and following up on customer invoices and bills
• Recording, maintaining and filing financial transactions
• Updating Excel spreadsheets and internal accounting systems
• Completing daily and monthly banking activities
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management information and Board reports
• Processing employee expenses and reconciling company credit cards
• Supporting finance-related projects and ad hoc tasks as required
• Contributing to process improvements and helping to streamline finance procedures across the business

About You

The successful candidate will be organised, conscientious and eager to learn, with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or accounts data entry role
• Exposure to accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar systems
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
• The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude
