Job dimensions
Contribute on every well drilled by the Drilling and Completion Department to meet objectives and comply with company and country codes of practice, while maintaining HSE best practices.
Offshore field with multiple production platforms and well satellite platforms, with numerous production wells activated by electrical submersible pumps (ESP), plus water injection wells for reservoir flooding and water source wells.

HSE
Knowledge of company HSE policy, rules and procedures (HSE MS) and in particular ISO 14001 standard
Observance of the company HSE policy, rules and procedures
Participation in HSE activities and global improvement (e.g. referential, reporting, feedback, audits, trainings, HSE action plans)
Ethics & compliance
Demonstrate full compliance with the company code of conduct regarding procurement and business integrity
Contribute to and promote compliance with group and affiliate rules and procedures
Follow local HSE regulations, laws, rules, and obtain necessary authorizations to operate
Asset integrity
Contribute to Asset Integrity initiatives by reporting any anomaly, defect, bad practice, lack of equipment, or lack of competence that could result in a major HSE incident or loss of production
Key responsibilities
Give full attention to daily operational activities at the rig
Ensure availability of all products, equipment, and personnel in a timely manner for fluids and cement support of drilling operations
Optimize drilling fluids and cement jobs; manage consumption and operations
Minimize fluids and cement non-productive time (NPT) through operational anticipation, logistics, and supervision
Ensure all company rules and guidelines for fluids and cement are followed (including safety stocks)
Conduct and review fluids and cement-related programs
Ensure no shortage of chemicals versus forecast; manage inventory
Be involved in planning and all logistics related to operations
Ensure safety and security of personnel and installations are applied
Supervise execution of plans, programs, and operations
Perform technical and operational feedback and analysis
Follow up, analyze, and validate data and reporting of well operations
Follow up mud and cement operations on site
Analyze risks, anticipate potential issues, and propose alternatives
Control service providers performance for safety and efficiency
Follow up and control costs of operations within budget and procedures
Support offshore drilling team efforts to achieve no fatalities, no lost time incidents, no blowouts, and no major spills
Develop and drive the QHSE performance plan for drilling
Relay and promote offshore drilling safety campaigns and initiatives (e.g. observation cards, awareness campaigns)
Ensure fluids and cement contractor services embrace the company safety culture and golden rules
Lead co-site and safety meeting preparation
Participate in simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) visits and follow-up
Complete mandatory safety training and medicals
Context and environment
Offshore, rotational position
Constant liaison with the mud engineer on board to ensure efficient preparation and follow-up of operations
Acts as technical correspondent for fluid and cement contracts
Constant link with safety engineer / offshore site leadership on board
Accountabilities
Ensure workover and drilling fluids operations are carried out in compliance with company safety standards
Ensure drilling and completion fluids operations are performed on time and within budget
Participate in operational decision-making
Contribute to improving skills and know-how (training and technology transfer)
Ensure close monitoring of fluids and cement properties
Qualifications / experience required
Education
B.Sc. in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
Professional experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
Technical competencies
Strong knowledge of chemistry, cementing, and drilling mud
Solid understanding of drilling and completion fluids operations
